• Advice and counsel on all aspects of employment-related law to avoid court and agency claims;
• The defense of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful discharge litigation in courts;
• Union avoidance, contract administration and unfair labor practice matters before the National Labor Relations Board;
• Drafting, enforcing, and dealing with agreements that protect trade secrets and prevent unfair competition by departed employees;
• Negotiating the maze of medical leave laws, such as the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act;
• Wage and hour matters, including employer audits, defense of agency investigations and litigation;
• Employee handbooks and compliance audits;
• Implementing policies and measures to prevent criminal behavior, such as workplace violence, theft and embezzlement, drug and alcohol abuse.
